The collapse of National Health Service Dentistry NHS) in the United Kingdom continues.
The dental patients cannot often find an NHS dentist to provide them care and now some dentists have been overpaid for not meeting government mandated care targets. The NHS paid the dentists in advance for care that they did not provide.
What a mess.
Exit question: How about privitizing the entire system and giving U.K citizens a tax cut?

Mike Penning, a Conservative health spokesman, said: “It is extraordinary that [these clawbacks are] happening at a time when over one million people have lost access to their NHS dentist in the last two years. These figures show, yet again, why we need to rip up Labour’s botched contract and move towards a registration system based on clinical need, one that is targeted at preventing dental ill health rather than reacting to it.”
What a mess.

It was an ideal system of dental healthcare yet it is sad that there are people just waiting to exploit it.
ReplyDeleteSingapore on the other hand is totally privatized.
I'm not a dentist, but I imagine I'd throw up my hands and give up if I was practicing in the U.K.
ReplyDeleteHow could it get this bad in what by all accounts is a civilized society?
